Be Bold. Be the Difference.

Every day each of us contributes to making our community a great place to live and work.

‘Be Bold’ aims to recognise the difference local people are making in their local communities and to support you if you want to get involved.

What is ‘Be Bold’?

Being ‘Bold’ means getting involved in your local community, taking action if it is something you are passionate about, and making a difference.

Being Bold is showing your community that you want to make a positive impact on your local environment and the people who live in your neighbourhood. This could mean volunteering with a local community group, joining a sports club, setting up a social enterprise or kick starting a project, getting your business involved in the local community or even just visiting an elderly neighbour who may be feeling isolated.

The best people to identify what a community needs are the people who live and work within it and this is where we need your involvement. If you can see an opportunity in your community, and you feel you could make a difference with some support then it is time to Be Bold ... Be the Difference.

We want to hear your Be Bold story! You can tweet us @TPAction using the hashtag #BeBoldTrafford or if you want to find out how you can Be Bold, contact us via the online form

Help us to help make your community a great place. The first step is taking ACTION after reading this page. The second is telling us about it. The third doesn’t require you to do anything – you’re already being the difference.

Here are a few examples of local people being Bold:

I’m not doing anything yet, how do I get involved?

The answer is that you're probably already involved, just by being part of your community. However what you might not know is if there are other like-minded people living just by you. We have a number of case studies on this page which tell you about some of the things local people are doing to Be Bold and we want to hear what you do. There are no minimum (or maximum) time commitments, it is up to you.

Just think, if you committed to saying ‘hello’ to a neighbour every day and offering to help with their gardening, how you could brighten up their day.

What’s in it for me?

The feel good factor of course! You’ll also be making a difference where it matters most, the place you live and work. Sometimes people only see and hear the negative things in their community, but knowing that you are doing all you can for yours will mean a lot. Try it!

Being Bold doesn’t just benefit your local community; it can also help develop personal skills, help you meet your neighbours, build relationships and improve your wellbeing. It’s also about making your community a great place to live and work.

Who is behind Be Bold?

Be Bold is being run by the Trafford Partnership as part of the Locality Working project.

The Trafford Partnership is Trafford’s Local Strategic Partnership, a single body which brings together organisations including from across the public, private, voluntary, faith and community sectors and local residents.

Members of the Trafford Partnership work together to achieve a common vision to ensure Trafford is a place where our residents achieve their aspirations, and our communities are thriving.

COMMUNITY BUILDERS

Front line staff, Ward Councillors and Locality Partnership members have a lead role in the Be Bold … Be the Difference campaign, acting as Community Builders
